Drinking pattern audit

A 7-question audit on your current drinking pattern. Weekly units, drinking days, behavioural signals (morning-after edge, drift later, attempts to cut down, alone-drinking). Returns a risk band — low, increasing, higher, or worth-professional-review — with concrete next moves.

Who this is for

Adults who suspect their drinking has drifted and want a structured way to look at it without the moralism. Not for anyone with physical-dependence symptoms — please see a clinician before any reduction.

How to use the result

Be honest about the unit counts; most adults under-estimate by ~30%. Re-run quarterly to track drift. Use alongside the alcohol and health topic hub and the alcohol-free-week-planner worksheet.

What this tool can't tell you

It can't diagnose alcohol-use disorder. AUDIT-C and similar validated clinical instruments do that — talk to a GP if any signals here flag for you.

A small (175ml) glass of wine ≈ 2 units. A pint of strong beer ≈ 3 units. A 25ml spirit measure ≈ 1 unit.

Morning-after anxiety, low mood, or shame

Drinking earlier in the day than 5 years ago

Have tried to cut down and not stuck to it
